Mrs. Howard’s Third Grade
School begins at 8:50. Please have your child to school on time. I assign a morning activity each morning while I am taking attendance and going through the morning mail.
Absentee notes are to be sent in when your child returns to school.

All homework (given Monday - Thursday) should be signed daily. Homework will be given in all subject areas through the year.
The children will be given advance notice of all Summative Assessments. ( a spelling pretest will be given each Monday and a final assessment for each lesson on Friday).
All assignments will be posted on my web page. Homework is expected to be completed unless I receive a note from a parent.
The children are expected to read 20 minutes each night as part of their homework assignment.
Vocabulary books will be assigned on Mondays or Tuesday and due on Fridays unless otherwise noted.
It is very important to the success of the math program that multiplication facts be practiced weekly.
Print through December - after Christmas vacation, writing script will be expected daily.

Small projects will be assigned throughout the year
14. Class trips will be announced shortly. A parent from each family is required to
attend the June field trip.
15. Our class pets are available to go home for the weekends and over vacations.
Please send in a note by Tuesday if you are interested in taking a pet home at the
end of the week..
16. Test folders will go home approximately every two weeks. Please return them
signed.
17. Homework passes must be signed by a parent and assignments written on the
back of the pass.

21. The children may bring a simple snack each day. It will be considered a working
snack. We will discontinue snack after Christmas vacation.
