Welcome to Miss Komyathy's
First Grade Class!
"The beautiful thing about learning...
is that no one can take it away from you!"
FIRST GRADE NEWS:
The First Graders listened to the story, First Day Jitters. Throughout this story they thought it was a student who was nervous about the first day of school. At the end of the story, they were shocked to find out that it was the TEACHER who was nervous!! They then voted on how they felt on the first day of school this year! As you can see most of our friends were very happy to be back to school!
After, a few days in first grade, we created a Class Constitution as a class. The students all agreed on the ten rules that our classmates will all have to follow! They were so excited to sign their names on the Constitution just like the people of our country did long ago!!!
We are off to a great start here in First Grade!!!
First graders read the story, How many seeds in a pumpkin?
Then they counted the seeds, by tens, for their own pumpkins!
They found that the smallest pumpkin had the most seeds!!
That pumpkin had the most lines on it (that is where the seeds grow)!
